Today’s song is “You You You” by Joe Sumner. Hailing from Los Angeles by-way-of London he formed the band Santa’s Boyfriend later named Fiction Plane. This musical enjoyed a moment, well, several years of moments, a few record labels, a small handful of releases, a well-cultivated fan base and an 18-month tour supporting another trio, The Police before parting ways.

While in LA, Joe has been creating his own music for an upcoming solo album coming out later this year. “You You You” is the second single off that upcoming release entitled Sunshine In The Night.

The song opens with enchanting strings then adds a power pop piano melodies that match Sumner’s engaging lyrics filled with redemption and regret. Asking what he can do to make it better offers an emotive song with upbeat and hopeful melodies for a heart bursting track.

You can see Joe live supporting Sting, opening the shows, and as a member of his band. He will also have some solo club dates running from March to October 2022 in Europe and North America.
