Today’s song is “Revved” by Chuck Ragan. The singer, guitarist, and songwriter is also formerly the guitar and vocalist of the band Hot Water Music. After the HWM disbanded Ragan went out on a solo career and has had a prolific music career producing many infectious and enjoyable tracks.

His music is a soulful folk sound with passionate vocals and a hint of that working-class Americana feel. Anyone who likes Springsteen and The Gaslight Anthem/Brian Fallon will sure to enjoy Ragan’s music.

One particular song from his 2014 album, Till Midnight, was on the set list of a previous show and I found myself really liking it. I’m hoping to hear it as part of his set this weekend.

Ragan is currently on tour with The Interrupters and Frank Turner and will be playing the Tri-state area this weekend with a show Friday, May 12th in NYC”s Pier 17th and then hitting the Jersey shore on Saturday, May 13th kicking off the summer concert series at The Stone Pony Summer Stage.
