Today’s song is “Cookie & Brownies” by Edelweiss. The Stroudsberg, Pennsylvania by way of Philadelphia and New York group is comprised of Lexi Campion (drums), Niko Porlier (vocals/guitar), and Donald (Tony) Young (bass). Since the band’s high school conception in 2010, Edelweiss has self released two EPs, dropped a Japanese exclusive via Bullion Records, and roared back into the scene with their latest EP Philadelphia, via Mad Dragon Records.
This song is off their Philadelphia EP out now. The album was recorded at Headroom Studios with Joe Reinhart of Hop Along and Joyce Manor. The video for the song recently premeired on The Wild Honey Pie and was called “simple, hypnotizing and just a little abrasive – just like the band.” The punk rock trio has a way with words and melodies that tantalize and excite the listener. The young band of punk rockers make their mark with a dancy, atmospheric vibe.
