Today’s song is “Be Your Man” by Rah Rah Vessels. Rah Rah is the latest Canadian export that is sure to get a following. Its members consist of Erin Passmore, Kristina Hedlund, Joel Passmore, Marshall Burns, and Jeffrey Romanyk. This Regina quintet is making a name for themselve not only in their homeland but across the continent. They have been voted Canada’s Best Alternative Band and also were put forward for the 2013 Polaris Prize for their previous album.
This is the latest single off the band’s new LP Vessels out now via DevilDuck Records. The band has a sound that will hook the listener. It’s catchy rhythms and melodies have been described as as mix of HAIM, The Bangles, and The Pierces. This upbeat dance number pairs slacker power pop with a flair of 50s/60s female backing harmonies that create an awesome song. The band will be on tour this December throughout Europe including three nights in the UK, London, Liverpool, and Preston (see dates below).
