Last night I attended the Madonna concert at the IZOD center in East Rutherford, NJ. This was the first time I had ever seen Madonna perform live, I had tickets to see her for the first time back in August 2001 on her Drowned World Tour, but that concert was canceled. So when I was able to get tickets for the Sitcky and Sweet tour I was stoked.
For anyone that is a fan and has not seen Madonna in concert, it is not to be missed. She is a true performer and she rocks for someone who is 50 years old. During the “Get into the Groove” set she is jump roping for almost the whole song, double dutch and all LOL. She was awesome, my only complaint is the political bullshit that artists like her have to plug during a concert. I don’t really give a f*** who you are supporting. I did not pay money to hear you trash Sarah Palin, give me a break with the politics and just entertain me! I always hate it when artists use the captive audience at a concert to push their political agenda. Those of you with tickets to see her after the election will hopefully not have to deal with that annoying part of the performance. But if you take out that piece it was a great show. She did a fabulous mix of old hits and the new. No one opens for Madonna and she does not do an encore, but the finale of “Give it to Me” kicked a**!
