Today’s song is “Come and Go” by The Enigmatic Foe. Hailing from Knoxville, Tennessee Jared Colinger is the songwriter and musician behind the music.
Though a solo project he gets help from drummer Frank Lenz (Headphones, Richard Swift) and guitarist Josh Dooley (Map, Fine China) to round out his sound.
His music exudes influences of playful pop from the 70s and 80s. Adding a dose of self-deprecation his sounds regale the listener with lyrics ranging from the delights of new romances to failed relationships and everything in between.
This song was written as a result of the precariousness Colinger was having in a budding relationship with his now-wife. He explains,
“Written while I was dating my wife, ‘Come and Go’ was a song of uncertainty which bridged the failed relationship I had to the new love I was pursuing. I wasn’t sure if this new relationship would last, or if she would be there for a reason, season, or lifetime.”
This track is off his album The Original Plan due out July 30th, 2021. Listen below and for more information check out his Bandcamp, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages. Pre-order the album here!
