Today’s song is “When The Lights Go Down” by Heartour. This is the solo project from Jason Young, the Venice Beach, Californian co-founder and drummer for the band The Ruse.
What started as an avenue to write songs outside of a band dynamic and to discover his own voice as an artist has taken on a life of its own. He has been making music on and off since 2003.
“When The Lights Go Down” is the second single from his upcoming new EP Divert The Asteroid out June 25th. This track layers indie-rock melodies over synth-beats and wraps it all up with shimmering pop choruses that make a loveable kaleidoscope of sound.
