Today’s song is “Good Day (Feat. MisterWives and Curtis Roach) by Jax Anderson. Formerly known as Flint Eastwood, Anderson has been putting out some great tracks this year.
On the heels of a self-empowerment anthem collaboration with K.Flay, Jax has put out a new track featuring Mandy Lee, singer from the New York-based indie-pop group MisterWives, and rising rapper Curtis Roach.
Fellow Detroit native Curtis Roach posted a 15-second video to TikTok in March 2020 and created the quarantine anthem across the world called “Bored in The House.” Over the past year it has received over 47 million views on TikTok and catapulted his music career. The clip gained the attention of rapper Tyga, who produced the demo into a full song which has now amassed over 60 million global streams. He’s recently released a new track off his forthcoming debut album later this year.
When describing the inspiration for the track Jax Anderson says,
“I wrote this song in a parking lot of a venue in Rhode Island when I was on tour with MisterWives. I was having an incredible day where I felt confident & was wearing an amazing outfit so I wanted to document it. I brought it to Jesse of MisterWives & he layed some horns down in the greenroom. I brought it to Curtis when I got home & he went crazy on it. I knew Mandy would bring a certain ease & optimism that the track needed. I hit her up & she created something fantastic. I’m happy to have it out & into the world.”
Curtis Roach was jazzed to be part of the song collaboration adding,
“I’m super thankful that Jax reached out to me to be a part of this incredible song.”
MisterWives’ Mandy Lee said this track provided a mood altering experience when she was feeling down,
“When Jax asked if I’d jump on a song of hers I knew the answer was yes before even listening to it. What I didn’t know was how needed Good Day would be to help lift my spirit at a time where good days felt so out of reach. It’s impossible to hear this song and not smile and dance your way towards the light at the end of the tunnel <3”
This track is just what we need right now to keep holding on to that good day vibes. If it feels like you’ve heard this before. You may remember it as the featured track on the Halo Top TV ad. It’s out now via Neon Gold Records.
