Today’s song is “Supersonic” by boWser. Hailing from Australia’s Gold Coast, this trio consists of Nathan Williams, Otto Mitter Jr, and Brad Weynton.
The three came together several years ago with a shared interest: to make music that was ingenious and original. Since their inception, they have been on a journey of continual musical evolution. After signing a worldwide publishing deal with EMI they went on to release their debut mini-album Modus Operandi, to rave reviews. They were also hand-selected by Triple J Unearthed to support Eagles of Death Metal on their Australian tour, and were finalists in both the Rock Category and The Courier-Mail People’s Choice Award at the Q Song Awards.
This track is off their sophomore album Whispers From the Wicker Man out this month. The music has been referred to as a “unique brand of ‘rock with an apocalyptic intelligence,” and “hitting as hard as city concrete.”
Being a fan of the rock persuasion I was instantly taken with this track. It opens hard with its intriguing guitars and harmonious vocals. There is something very entertaining about this band. They have high energy and raw rock that will appeal to fans of Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age.
