Today’s song is “Out of Reach” by Annamay.

Born in the footsteps of the mountains in Åre, the Swedish songstress began learning music and songwriting at the young age of 10. In addition to music, she developed her professional career to become an expert level engineer in underground infrastructure and urban planning.

For Annamay music is her way of keeping semblance. She uses it to communicate her truths, freedoms, and empowerment as a female in this chaotic world.

This is one of the two latest singles from the Stockholm-based singer-songwriter and engineer. The track features her newly recruited band comprised of Jonas Petersson (piano), Henrik Naglitsch (bass), Bo Ahlbertz(Irish bouzouki), Esko Vuonokari (electric guitar), and Jens Stenbro (drums).

The full set of musicians encompasses various genres and is a great compliment to Annamay’s lovely vocal stylings.

Annamay says the song is “about lost opportunities that may arise again (if you really want them to…). Living, loving, in solitude, longing for that special person.”

Emotions pour out of this track with piano-pop melodies swaying against a folksy feel for an easy listening track that will tug at your heartstrings. You can hear the vulnerability in her vocals. “On the door, you never opened / Call you never made” boast of missed opportunities for what could have been. It makes the listener feel her pain of what if.
