Today’s song is “Lift Me Up” by Dirty Heads. The Huntington Beach, California band is comprised of Dustin Bushnell (Vocals/Guitar), Jared Watson, (Vocals), Jon Olazabal (Percussion), Matt Ochoa (Drums), and David Foral (Bass).

This is the second single off their upcoming album Super Moon due out next month.

“Lift Me Up” has fusion that is part reggae and part soft rock riffs for a perfect breezy summer song.

According vocalist Jared Watson this song was inspired from real life experiences. “We tapped into our own lives – we used to be drug dealers, so this is our version of Curtis Mayfield’s ‘Pusherman,’ the theme song for some Shaft-style weed-seller.”

The video features a cookie-cutter sleepy town in the 70’s, where the bow-tied milkman delivers product to lift everyone up with psychedelic elements.

Watch below and for more information on Dirty Heads check out their official website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages. See them live next Wednesday, July 24th at PNC bank Arts Center with 311.
