Today’s song is “Renegades” by Eddy Yang. The Los Angeles based rocker makes music that is fun and thoughtful.
Yang’s eclectic sound stems most likely from his diverse musical influences which range from The Velvet Underground, Television, and Bruce Springsteen to artists like Kanye West, Beach House, and Chvrches.
This track opens with an electronic beat that gets you pumped for what is to come. Next gritty guitars kick in hitting the listener hard with its punk rock chords. Laced with lyrics of social injustices his distorted vocals make this a serious, yet danceable anthem.
“Renegades” is off Yang’s debut album entitled American Glory and is out now. This genre-bending album features hints of classic rock, electronic, and even some hip-hop beats, to create a sound that is a combination of old classics with a new modern twist.
