Today’s song is “XO” by The Elation. The Cork, Ireland band is composed of Chris Cansdale (Vocals), Declan Kelleher (Bass/Keys), Billy Whelan (Guitar), and Luke Tai (Drums/Percussion).
This song is off the band’s upcoming debut EP Clickbait will be out this Spring via Top 6 Records.
This is the first single from the EP and the band will be touring in support of the release (see dates below). The album was written by the band and recorded and produced in London, by Andy Whitmore, (who’s previous credits include Elton John, Terence Trent Darby, Eternal, Pet Shop Boys and more,).
“XO” is a song about becoming a little older and wiser and moving on from past regrets, relationships and bad experiences by choosing to let go of that chapter and start anew. It has a synth that is upbeat and will make you want to hit the dancefloor. The pulsating beats paired with fast guitars and lovely vocals make for a tune you are sure to dig.
