Today’s song is “Get the Feeling” By The Chordaes. The native New York group is comprised of Leo Sawikin (Lead Vocals/Guitars), Ethan Glenn (Drums), Jesse Serrano (Bass), and Max Ventura (Keyboards/Backing Vocals).
The Chordaes are on a mission: to bring back great, melodic rock, playing what they call Post-power pop—a style that draws on classic rock and power pop, refracted through a contemporary sensibility.
The band’s songwriter, lead vocalist and guitarist, Leo Sawikin, crafts complex harmonies, inventive chord and tempo changes, and heartfelt lyrics. According to Elmore Magazine, The Chordaes’ music is “…a diverse array of sounds and ideas, inspired by the freewheeling experimentation of Radiohead and late period Beatles while retaining a strictly pop essence.”
Their music has received strong college radio airplay and many premieres including Earmilk, Popdust, Pancakes and Whiskey, and BlackBook.
Deli Magazine, named the band a number one NY-based emerging alt rock band of 2015, calling their music “Elegant melodies, measured arrangements … this is a group of young and talented musicians with noteworthy songwriting chops and a vocalist who can touch hearts in ways reminiscent of unforgotten NYC hero Jeff Buckley.”
“Get the Feeling,” is the first single off their album Touch the Ground which is out now.
This quartet brings soft vocals with power pop chords blended together with a classic rock vibe creating catchy tune you will be humming along with before its end. They are an easy listening group that has a heart and soul which will appeal to the masses.
