Today’s song is “Baby I Want You” by Typhoid Rosie. The Brooklyn-based ESBMusic featured artist Typhoid Rosie consisting of comedian Rosie Rebel (vocals), Matt Kursmark (guitar), Phil Wartell (drums), Leah Farmer (keyboard), Chris Potter (guitar) and Steve Capecci (bass).
The band is back with this new single off their upcoming debut LP, Hearts Bleed Goodbye, which is set to release March 25, 2016.
The track premiered on PopDose and called the band a “feistier rock &broll yesteryear when the likes of Joan Jett, Suzi Quatro and Kim Carner ruled the charts instead of the typical sex kitten dinner theater we’ve been deluged with ever since a bored Britney Spears emerged from the classroom.”
Baeble Music and Wordkraft praised the band band for their distinct sound and meaningful lyrics.
While the new LP is a tribute to lead singer Rosie Rebel’s mother who passed away suddenly, this track is about a stalker who plagued Rebel during her comedian years. This track is a haunting tale of unwanted attention. The song invites the listener with its tempting bass lines reminiscent of 90’s rock. The song is a great combination of sultry vocals and enticing melodies to paint a vivid picture of this horrifying experience.
