Song of the Day: “I Want to Know” by Lost In Society

Todays songs is “I Want to Know” by Lost in Society. The Asbury Park, New Jersey group is comprised of Zach Moyle (vocalist/guitar), Nick Ruroede (bass) and Hector Bonora (drums).

This NJ trio knows how to bring the punk. They have a hard hitting sound that makes you want to start a mosh pit. It’s a great single with heavy hitting and aggressive rock melodies paired with slower guitar riffs. The deep smoldering vocals of Zach Moyle compliment the high intensity drums and guitar.

Emotion emits from this song with its attention grabbing melodies and thoughtful lyrics. The song conveys a political message about the current unrest among the working class. When asked about the song, the band said: “This song is basically conveying the current frustration and divide between the classes in America. A classic greed vs. need storyline. This song took over a year to take its final form, and almost ended up on the cutting room floor before its final incarnation. We’re happy it didn’t, and hope everyone agrees. ”

Lost in Society has taken influences from 90’s angst bands like Nirvana, Rise Against, and Green Day to create their own brand of punk rock.

The NJ-based alternative punk act has performed at large festivals including Vans Warped Tour, Punk Rock Bowling, Fun Fun Fun Fest, SXSW, CMJ Music Marathon, and Fest. Lost In Society is known for bringing fans out the same way old punks did — by word of mouth. Having toured all over the map and sharing the stage with the likes of Taking Back Sunday, Dead Sara, The Bouncing Souls, Bad Religion, The Flatliners, Misfits, and SWMRS, the trio is showing no signs of stopping.

The three-piece is gearing up to hit SXSW this month and will be playing their hometown in June (see dates below).

This track was praised by The Deli Magazine and recently premiered on . It is off their newest release Modern Illusions. The album which was produced by Pete Steinkopf (guitarist of The Bouncing Souls) is out now via Handsome Stranger Records.
