Song of the Day: “Glue Boiler” by New Mayans

Today’s song is “Glue Boiler” by
New Mayans. New Mayans is the brainchild behind Swiggy, the Saint Louis born artist. Who grew up beneath the streets of various wastelands came upon unwanted instruments and honed his craft in the sewers on derelict guitars and unwanted analog synthesizers that people had flushed. Writing about his eventual escape where he joined a league of Interstellar bounty hunters and formed an alliance in 2014. What they became known as was New Mayans. Members include Mario J McNulty, Earl Slick,
and Sterling Campbell.

The band cites influences of late 70’s David Bowie and Radiohead with a hint of Vangelis creating a Sonic Brave New World. Each and every song, he logs his thoughts, adventures, and eventual devolution into madness.

This song opens with hard hitting drums that wake your soul. It has a catchy and infectious anthemic rock melody. This paired by distinct vocals with emotional lyrics make for a chilling musical experience. Described as The New Mayans would be at home with fans of Muse, David Bowie, Radiohead, Silversun Pickups, and Yeasayer

The track is off the band’s latest EP Crimes out today!
