Today’s song is “Up” by Kirsten Izer. This is a brand new track from the NJ-based singer/songwriter. User has been described as “wild and free while adding a distinctive note of extravaganza to a familiar pop formula.” The EP was recently praised by Bullett Magazine, who said “it’s refreshing to hear a young musician with a more introspective sound.”
This young New Jersey native can be held with acclaim of other prominent NJ musicians. Izer has a sound that will turn heads. Her music is captivating with the first opening notes. Reminiscent of 80’s pop with a slow shoegaze and melodic guitars; she enslaves the listener with her hypnotic rhythms. This singer/songwriter knows how to make killer music.
She is also a contending musician in the 2nd Annual 24 Hour Songwriting Challenge put on by the NJ music blog Speak Into My Good Eye. Music from all participants will be compiled into an album. Which will be released on October 16th.
All of the songs will be released as part of a larger compilation on October 16th with all of the proceeds going to benefit New Jersey chapters of NAMI.
A celebration of the release will be held during SIMGE’s inaugural CMJ party on Thursday, October, 15th at Littlefield in Brooklyn. Event Details here
