Another Planet Entertainment, Superfly Productions and Starr Hill Presents, in a partnership with the San Francisco Recreation & Park Department, are proud to announce the third annual Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, confirmed to take place August 14 – 15, 2010 in San Francisco’s historic Golden Gate Park. Benefiting the San Francisco Recreation & Park Department and celebrating the four pillars of Bay Area culture – music, food, wine and technology — there is no other festival that honors its home city to such an extent, making Outside Lands one of the most unique and enjoyable events in the country. The artist lineup for the festival will be announced on June 1. A limited quantity of lower-priced Eager Beaver tickets will go on sale on May 7 at 10am PST.
Everyone who attended hailed 2009’s Outside Lands as a success. Rolling Stone credited the event for leveraging “San Francisco’s food, wine, technology and activism cultures to give festival-goers a one-of-a-kind, world-class experience,” while MTV.com called it “San Francisco-style bliss.”
In 2010, Outside Lands promises to continue to set the standard for live music in the region, with incomparably eclectic programming that showcases the top artists in a variety of musical scenes as national headliners perform alongside exceptional emerging talent.
It also promises to bring even greater emphasis to what truly sets it apart from every other festival in the country – the celebration of the deep traditions of the Northern California culinary experience. At no other festival can you dine on the delicacies of the city’s most famous top-tiered restaurants while sampling the best in California wine. From Hawaiian poke and Baja shrimp ceviche (Pacific Catch), portabello mushroom skewers (Asqew Grill), farm to spoon soups (Split Pea Seduction), Korean tacos (namu), crepes (Ti Couz), BBQ pulled pork sandwiches (Maverick), samosas & chicken curry (New Ganges), organic smores (Charles Chocolates), fried chicken & pecan pie (Farmerbrown’s Little Skillet), wood-fired pizza (Full Of Life Flatbread), The Original Ice Cream sandwich (It’s-It), grass-fed beef hot dogs (Let’s Be Frank), cupcakes (Mission Minis) to shrimp poboys & sausage jambalaya (Yat’s), Crispy mac & cheese (Andalu), coffee (Philz Coffee), arepas and cachapas (Pica Pica Maize Kitchen), Mexico City food (El Huarache Loco), Burritos (Gordo Taqueria) and Cajun corn dogs (Evergood fine foods), San Francisco’s finest cuisine can be enjoyed while sipping the treasures of some of California’s most iconic wineries like Ridge, Hess Collection, Bonny Doon and Iron Horse, as well as some of the top small wine estates like Peay, Copain, Unti and Bedrock Wine Co.
The list of restaurants and wineries represented at the festival is below. More will be announced soon.
Outside Lands 2010 represents the second of a five-year agreement with San Francisco’s Recreation and Park Department and the City of San Francisco. San Francisco Rec & Park manages over 200 Parks, Playgrounds and Open Spaces throughout the City, in addition to numerous other recreation facilities and programs. Outside Lands is thrilled to support this mission. A significant portion of every ticket sold will be directly benefitting San Francisco’s Recreation and Park Department.
