Dynamic piano-poppers, For The Foxes have been rocking the Garden State with their sweet, heartfelt melodies that will make any adolescent girl swoon. Composed of Nick Dungo (vocals, keyboards, songwriter), Jimmy Brindley (guitar), Danny Vassallo (drums), BJ Smith (bass), and Dan Lowenberg (guitar), the NJ quintet is a band that creates endearing and fun, danceable pop-rock.
Since forming in late 2007, the band has released two EP’s. The first EP, entitled Six Ways to Love was released in 2008. The EP gained national exposure with airplay on various MTV shows as well as their song “We Can’t Stop” which was featured in a T-Mobile Sidekick commercial promoting MTV’s Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Island. After touring regionally in support of the first EP, the guys took time off to write new material. In 2009, the band had the opportunity to travel to Santa Monica, California where they spend the month of August recording three brand new songs with legendary producer Jim Wirt (Jack’s Mannequin, No Doubt, Incubus, The Rocket Summer). The three tracks were released as a self-titled EP that November. Their recent single “O.M.G” has been featured in the season premiere of hit TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians racking in over 4 million viewers.
For The Foxes has an ear pleasing, sound that will get your toes tapping and fingers snapping. Lively, jingling, and jarring piano keys mold rock melodies to create music that make you want to get up and dance. Their infectious piano pop is light-hearted fun that rocks. Love is depicted through cutesy pie and humorous lyrics on songs like “Karma” and “More Than A Crush” (You’re more than a crush/You’re more than Ramen instant lunch/And if I ever bought an ice cream cake I’d save you the crunch). While, the new EP takes on a little more poppier sound with songs like “Fastcar” and “O.M.G,” they still have a knack for creating refreshingly, effervescent music that is lead by the sweet, comfort and enticing vocals of Nick Dungo. The musical excitement shines through in their live performance. For The Foxes’ music is sure to hook, line, and sink you.
For The Foxes is playing a few dates in April and May. They will be playing the Broadway Bar in Amityville, NY April 11, Starland Ballroom in Sayreville May 8, and Highline Ballroom NYC with Cute Is What We Aim For and Friday Night Boys May 12.
