Today’s music industry is all about DIY. Now some musicians are turning to their fans to help finance their albums. This is the case with D.C artist, Shane Hines and the Trance.
Their CD set to release next month is fully funded by fans. The band started a program called “Team Trance,” which allowed fans to contribute so the guys could get “The Glory Journal” produced. They raised more than $35,000 enabling them to land a producer in Nashville who previously worked with Wilco and Ludo.
This is an incredible story and shows the dedication and passion that music fans have for their favorite artists.
In these hard economic times, this band has triumphed with a creative way to keep making music. Pretty impressive.
