It’s crazy to think that 20 years ago Linkin Park released their second studio album Meteora. What’s even harder to think about is that it’s been six years since the tragic passing of lead singer, Chester Bennington.
In honor of the album’s anniversary, Warner Records is releasing a special album on April 7th complete with the never before released track “Lost,” which is out today.
While we will never get him back fans can relish the fact there is new music out!
“Finding this track was like finding a favorite photo you had forgotten you’d taken, like it was waiting for the right moment to reveal itself,” Mike Shinoda said of the track in a statement. “For years, fans have been asking us to release something with Chester’s voice, and I’m thrilled we’ve been able to make that happen in such a special way. I think they’re going to be floored when they hear and see all the incredible unreleased songs and video footage in Meteora 20.”
And floored I am! This is such a great treat! Fans nostalgic for more Linkin Park music will find five additional previously unreleased songs, demos, live recordings, B-sides, and previously unaired footage.
Check out the new animated music video that accompanies the track. It features imagery of late lead vocalist Chester Bennington. Watch below and pre-order the 20th-anniversary edition of Meteora now on Amazon.
