Today’s song is “Alligator” by Black Nash. Hailing from Brooklyn NY, Black Nash is the moniker of Jody Smith.

At the end of 2019 Smith just finished his five years of service with the Army. Just as he was trying to get back to civilian life the pandemic hit and he found himself out of work and stuck at home. Despite these bleak times, he took his energy and put it to good use.

With the help of his friend Jonny Lutz on drums Smith recorded an album incorporating some projects, he had been working on over the past few years while in the army. What resulted is some pretty amazing music.

Black Nash has been already collecting accolades with The Fire Note calling him a “…blast of claustrophobic energy.” Listening to this track you can hear why. His music is highly entertaining. Its descriptive storytelling is only overshadowed by the sweetly infectious guitar and drum beats. They make for a rambunctious and attention-getting track.

This song is off the upcoming self-titled album due out February 26th, 2021 via Ramp Local.

His music is available to stream on Amazon, Spotify and Bandcamp.
