Today’s song is “Something Better” by Added Color. Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, and Brazil the band has a message of empowerment and the muscle to bring the message home.

The group was founded in 2014 when Dan and Kiko Freiberg, two brothers from Brazil, met with Americans Danny Dahan and Tim Haggerty. Together they explored various genres and styles leading up to their present sound.

The band has been making waves on the blogosphere receiving high praise from outlets as PureVolume, Red Bull Music, The Huffington Post, AOL Noisecreep, and The Village Voice. Pancakes and Whiskey debuted the title single off the “Psycho” EP stating “If you’re ready to hear the best rock track of the year, thus far, then you’ve come to the right place.”

This track is off their latest EP If You Had It All out now. The EP explores a wish to change the current state of affairs on a personal and societal level. It was recorded at Gojira’s Silvercord Studios with Jamie Hertz (Blind Melon) and Johann Meyer (Gojira, Shinedown, Mastodon). The single “Less Like Me” (released 10/7) has been featured on Youtube Music’s “Your New Alternative Playlist.”

There is something that really stood out about this track. The song opens with an echo of the chorus and then hits your hard with guitar riffs and drum beats. Added color has a complex sound that rocks hard with a meaningful message.
