Weezer hasn’t let a quarantine stop them from making music. Last week they dropped a new single “Hero” off their upciming album Van Weezer. Then this past Sunday, May 10th they debuted a new song “Blue Dream” as a guest star on the Simpsons. The track will also be off the band’s upcoming 14th studio album due out May 15th, 2020.
In addition to the new music, Rivers Cuomo is playing some old favorites. Last week on his livestream show “Island in the Zoom” he gave fans a treat with his cover of Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box.”
Hi, we're the band Weezer, you kids might recognize us and our music (old and new) on Sunday's episode of @TheSimpsons so tune in 8/7c on @AnimationOnFOX. pic.twitter.com/nuLy8wyjyE

Cuomo gives a hauntingly chilling performance of Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box” in this stripped-down piano-only version.
The band was set to hit the road this summer with Green Day and Fall Out Boy for their Worldwide Hella Mega Tour. European dates have been canceled due to the Covid pandemic. As for US dates the jury is still out as to whether or not they will be playing in NY and Boston. With all the rumors of concerts not coming back until 2021 I am not holding my breath.
