Song of the Day “Bones Get Old” by Jackson Price & The Blues Rockets

Jackson Price Playing Guitar in Suit and Hat | Eat Sleep Breathe Music
Today’s song is “Bones Get Old” by Jackson Price and the Blues Rockets. The group consists of Jackson Price (lead guitar, slide guitar, vocals), David Chmil (rhythm & lead guitar), Colin Jenkinson (bass), and Max Moulton (drums).

Before settling in Taos, New Mexico, Price resided in Los Angeles, California where he worked as an actor for the past 15 years. He had acted in over 30 national campaigns along with numerous guest spots on various TV shows and supporting roles in movies.

As a child, Jackson had learned how to play the blues guitar. He later turned to music as an outlet after getting burnt out as an actor. Price also became the lead guitar player for a Los Angeles based blues band called the Mighty Mojo Prophets.

After moving to New Mexico he started his own band called Big Swing Theory. The band was well received in Northern New Mexico but Price felt he wanted to play more of his original Blues and started a second band, Jackson Price and the Blues Rockets.

Price is getting back to basic and is adamant about the type of music he wants to create, “I want to pay homage to the roots of real music in a time where music played by real bands is dropping from the mainstream.”

This track is off the band’s debut album I used to have fun. The album features all original compositions by Price.

This song really stood out with its rough-and-tumble blues riffs. It speaks to your senses and has a gritty yet soft feel with an upbeat toe-tapping sound.
