Today’s song is “A Little More Country” by Michael Van and The Movers. The Point Richmond, Californian musician and his band of movers is comprised of Michael Van (Acoustic Guitar and Vocals), Pete Ahonen (Electric Guitar,Banjo, and Vocals), Alan Bond (Mandolin, Fiddle and Vocals), Larry Lawson (bass), and Bob Skye (Drums and Harmonica).

This whiskey laden, country music quintet delivers a sultry and kicking southern twang that is not your typical country music. It has a deep introspection that explores the lines between love and fear, self and no self, and the plain truth of reality.

The name of the song refers to the getting back the root of music and its simplicity. “What I really mean with “A little more country” is getting back to the richness of the simple things in life, the roots of our music and the simple truths that try to come out with every song,” says Michael Van.

This is the title track off their latest album due out December 20th. The album was arranged, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Michael Van and The Movers at Flying Blue Monkey Studio.
