Today’s song is “Bath Salts” by Breaks. The Tacoma, Washington band is composed of Damien Goyenechea, (lead vocalist/producer), Aaron Mortemore (keys and bass), Chris Velazquez (bass), Joel Azose (guitar/keys) and Eric Wennberg (drums).
This group of collaborators are a rowdy pack of hard livers (pun intended) hailing from California, Washington, and all points in between.
Goyenechea has fronted several bands, and over the years has created a catalog of wide ranging sounds to snap you out of your self-pitying ennui.
Meshing elements of indie rock, classic rock, psychedelica and reggae Breaks have bursted through with a sound that is unique and appealing.
“Bath Salts” is a high energy with an 80’s punk feel. The music hooks you in and it keeps your attention with its raucous and raspy vocals.
This track is off their debut On Our Way Together LP which drops on November 1st.
