Song of the Day: “Scarlets” by Victorian Halls

Today’s song is “Scarlets” by Victorian Halls

Though filled with live footage and extra bits of offstage antics, singer/guitarist Sean Lenart, explains the true meaning: “The song is about drowning. I have an irrational fear — almost dreamlike — of being underwater and not being able to reach the the sparkling, sheeted surface. Unfortunately, there’s always someone with me.”

This trip blends influences from groups like Brand New, Bloc Party, Daft Punk, Manchester Orchestra, and N.E.R.D. They have created their own indie pop gems with some rock thrown in for good measure. They have a kickoff sound you’ll be sure to love.

This is the latest single off their new album Hyperalgesia out now.
