Song of the Day: “Echo” by The Last Exposure

Today’s song is “Echo” by The Last Exposure. The Sydney, Australia band is comprised of Chelsea Barnes, Hayley Curran, Nathan McCulloch and Jake Doran.

The foursome met and formed while studying their music degrees at JMC Academy in Sydney.

This is their debut single and is set to be released on the 17th of June this year.

The lyrics of the song hold the acknowledgment, acceptance and understanding of one’s sexuality because of their love for another, and their growth as a young adult.

Chelsea Barnes (Lead Singer) says, “I wrote this song how I write most of my songs, with no specific intention. I then learn afterwards what the song is about for myself. The song is personal, it’s actually about the last 2 and a half years of my life. It’s about my experiences at that time and learning about who I am. It’s about acknowledging and understanding my sexuality and falling for my best friend.”

The alternative rockers band have been compared to Lady Gaga, Sia, and Garbage. I think they are pretty awesome!
