Today’s song is “Get Loose” by The Old Adage. This Michigan based group is comprised of Mimi and Nino Chavez. This brother and sister duo was originally known as Mimi & Nino. In March of 2012 they added James Humason to the group and changed their name to The Old Adage. The Old Adage released their first demo the T.O.A.D. in November of 2012. It consisted of acoustic rock original pieces. Since then they have been experimenting with a new sound and have evolved into what they describe as an “electric feel” with synthesizer/drum based songs on their official EP release entitled MATCHES which came out in August 2014.
The Old Adage has a sound that will get you hooked with the first note. Their infectious melodies and distinct vocals makes their music stand out. I was initially taken by their playful booming electronica. This music has a soft trance that fits well in the indie rock scene. This track if off their debut LP Cycles which is out now!
