Today’s song is “My Buddy” by Temporary Hero. Temporary hero is the brainchild of Jonah Bell. The Portland, Maine musician has been described as an “artist’s artist.” Starting out in the underground making club records like Ballet remixed by legendary Andre Lodemann. He was able to hit the mainstream club charts with his album WILDJOY featuring Jason Walker. From there he visited a cross-genre platform focusing on current and futuristic pop music with first full LP Sunset People featuring the MTV hit “Circus.” And so soon into his career, Temporary Hero threw not one, but two, left field curves… a tribute album to Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby and then the out-of-this-world take on Chet Baker vocal tunes he simply calls “CHET” complete with a visual experience on a website dedicated solely to the project.
This song is off his CHET album which came out last month. Bell has an intriguing musical prowess that alternates different genres. He uses everything from contemporary pop and electronica to a mix of indie-pop and urban R&B to make some rocking dance music. Upon first listen I felt I have never heard anything that combines so many different elements of sound. The fingers snapping and crooning melodies is so appealing and loveable.
