Today’s song is “Silver Spoons” by SKINNY GIRL DIET. The band is composed of Delilah (guitar/vocals), Ursula (drums/vocals), and Amelia (bass/vocals). The North London trio is not your average group of teenagers. Their name is a social commentary on the slim fast culture they have grown up with.
The band has shared the stage with Fat White Family and Slaves. Iggy Pop featured them on his Iggy Pop Confidential radio show calling them “…some people who just want to reach out and grab your ears.” They have also graced the cover of The BEAT, been featured in Dazed and Confused, Vice and The Guardian and from stacks of zine tips were instrumental in the making of tastemaker magazine The New British earlier this year.
This song is off their Reclaim Your Life EP out now. These grunge punk chicks who know how to rock.
