Today’s song is “For Kim” by The Pressure Kids. The Nashville, Tennessee band and are comprised of Nick Johnston (vocals, guitar), Allan Cuva (guitar, vocals), Katy Carmichael (vocals, keys), Justin Bavier (bass), and John Lewandowski (drums). The band met as college students in Nashville, Tennessee. They came together over their passion for music and drive to create an innovative and fresh sound culminating their musical backgrounds ranging from soul and gospel to hardcore punk.
This song is off their debut EP TIGER out now. The 3-track EP was recorded and produced this past summer in Brooklyn by Brian Herman (Vampire Weekend). The Pressure Kids are a band that will turn heads. With first listen they have a musical appeal that is a culmination of country twang with indie rock to knock your socks off. They open with big guitar riffs that entice the listener. The distinct vocals further draw your interest and keep your attention. This band has a big sound that is reminiscent of The Black Keys meets Wilco with a dash of Death Cab for Cutie.
