Today’s song is “Miracle” by Andy Evans. Growing up in Charlottesville, Virginia Evans was exposed to music at early age in his childhood home. He was mystified by its magical power and began to form his own musical tastes. As a teenager he learned to play the guitar and bass by listening to the riffs of bands like Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and Rush. He played along with tapes of his favorite bands and learned the ins and outs of the instruments. While in the Navy he was stationed in Ingleside, Texas. Here he was introduced to Texas country, gospel and the red dirt music that was coming out of Oklahoma. Andy wanted to document his journey and used music as his outlet.
Andy has been active for many years on the local music scene in central Texas, playing guitar, singing and building a following as the front man of the blues/rock outfit Andy Evans & The Brotherhood. He has played shows with Brandon Rhyder, Sam Riggs and has frequently collaborated with North Texas singing/songwriting fixture Clayton Landua of Six Market Blvd.
This is the title track off his debut solo release which will be available January 2016. Evans has created an entertaining poetic experience through his stories of love, heartbreak, joy and hope. He pulls inspiration from artists like Rush, The Allman Brothers Band, Tom Petty, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Shovels & Rope, Jack White and Ryan Adams to culminate sound that invokes everything from classic rock, folk, and alt-country. The singer, songwriter, and guitarist has a heavy soulful, breezy blues that will appeal to fans of Alabama Shakes, John Legend, Eric Clapton, and The Black Keys.
Evans is currently putting together a series of live shows in support of his first release. Miracle will be available in January 2016.
