Today’s song is “Summer Shanty” by The Front Bottoms. This track is off the band’s upcoming album Back On Top which releases on September 18th. This weekend the New Jersey band will be celebrating the release a signing and in-store performance at Vintage Vinyl in Fords, NJ tonight. Unfortunately, the show is sold out but fans can check the band playing on Saturday at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park as part of the Shadow of the City Festival. With the end of summer, this is a fitting song for their September release. The Front Bottoms has been previewing the album by releasing tracks over the summer (“Laugh Till I Cry” “West Virginia,” “Cough It Out,” and “HELP“). This song invokes the spirit of the band that we have come to know and love. We are really excited to hear the rest of the album and see their performance tonight.
