Today’s song is “City Blog” by Gideon King & City Blog.  The New York City band is made up of the composer, producer, and guitar player Gideon King and his studio band known as Gideon King & City Blog. It is comprised of James Genus (electric/upright bass), Matt Penman (upright Bass), Kevin Hays (piano), Willard Dyson (drums), Donald Edwards (drums), Donny Mccaslin (saxophone and flute), Andy Gravish (trumpet), Grace Weber (vocals), Marc Broussard (vocals), Elliott Skinner (vocals), Saul Kurtz (vocals),
Carolyn Leonhart (vocals), Gideon King (vocals), Carolyn Leonhart (background vocals), Grace Weber (background vocals), Matt Powell (background vocals), and Elliott Skinner (background vocals).

King is known for his work with some of the world’s finest musicians. His musical pursuits encompass a wide array of musical styles; everything from pop, funk, jass, and fusion. Influences from artists ike Steely Dan, John Coltrane, Neil Young, Earth, Wind & Fire, Wayne Shorter, John Scofield, Seal, and Pat Metheny.

This is the title track off the band’s upcoming album set to release on September 26th. This project is a fun loving, piano popping number. The music will take you on a musical journey with its funkadelic fusion of jazzy pop.
