Philadelphia’s Beach Slang hit the Jersey shore this weekend to play the legendary Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, NJ. Prior to the band coming out on stage, the crowd was led to believe that Bruce Springsteen was in the house.
For a split second it seemed like they were believing it. However, it was obvious it was only a joke by Hurry lead vocalist who was getting ready to introduce the band.
Beach Slang took the stage a little after 9 pm Saturday night to an excited crowd ready for some music. They played a 45 minutes set consisting of fan favorites and two new songs off their upcoming debut album. They tore it up with their fast and catchy bass lines. Their music is consists of enthusiastic melodies and fun rhythms.
During the show the side garage door opened out into the sea air. It brought in a cool breeze that was was the perfect backdrop to the band’s punk rock anthems. Watching the band up on stage you can tell that the band was having a great time. Lead vocalist James Snyder has an awesome stage presence. Standing up their you could see the dedication and love of his profession. His enthusiasm and charisma shined through with every song. They were really excited to be back at the Lanes and even had their bowling shoes on ready to hit some pins.
If you have a chance definitely check out this band, they are a fun time. Catch them on the rest of their summer tour (dates below)
