Today’s song is “Diamonds & Demons” by Paul Maged The NYC artist/songwriter covers a wide range of concepts, social issues, and universal themes such as climate change, human warfare, religion, and today’s ever-evolving society. This is the title track off his sophomore album out now. It is a “sarcastic & biting look at elitism and greed in today’s society.”

Maged has been writing songs off and off since early childhood. After his father unexpectedly passed away, he began writing the songs that would make up his first record, In My Time, a pop/rock album with a raw, garage band feel. One of the songs recorded for the album, “Falling Down,” would appear multiple times on MTV’s long running show “Think Again Sex Myths Revealed.” In 2011, while vacationing in Cape Cod, Maged began a labor of love, writing the songs to his follow up album, Diamonds & Demons. He studied music at the Boston Conservatory and then attended the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in New York. He has appeared in several independent films including festival award winner “Bobby G. Can’t Swim,” and has performed stand-up comedy throughout the Tri-state.

His music is entertaining, fun, and ferociously candid. His awesome in-your-face rock and includes an diverse mix of musical influences from bands like Pearl Jam, Green Day, Billy Joel, Elvis Costello and R.E.M. His musical storytelling paints a clear portrait against a backdrop of infectious melodies.
