Today’s song is is “In Da Club” by Kosha Dillz. This song was created in a freestyle session and produced by Jesse Shatkin, the producer for Sia’s #1 Billboard hit “Chandelier“. “In Da Club” is the final song on Kosha Dillz’ Awkward in a Good Way album.
Multiple 24 hour escapades through out Holland and Belgium over two summer festival tours (Mundial and Incubate) helped create the dance rap alternative video for “in da club” which takes pokes at normal hip hop stereotypes for 50 cent’ s nostalgic club banger. Along the way to Tilburg, NL nightlight, Kosha Dillz ends up in da club with underground rapper Planet Asia, random dutch girls with shaved heads, dances on the roof of a car, and falls asleep on a bench outside the club.
Kosha Dillz’ has also finally become an official showcase at CMJ Music Festival. OY VEY! Is a yiddish word best described as “woah’ or “OMG”, and has became a signature style for Kosha Dillz in his performances. Existing within two worlds, OY VEY! strives to celebrate Jewish and Israeli culture under the same roof as hip hop and indie music for cultural understanding and de-construction of all stereotypes. Past performers include Murs, Gangsta Boo, Aaron Cohen, The Stone Foxes, Sirah, and Mr. MFN Exquire.
