Today’s song is “Like A Fallen Rose” by BOROKO. BOROKO is the brainchild of Melbourne, Australia native Tim Fontaine. He relocated to NYC in late 2011 to pursue a career in music after writing and creating poetry. Playing most of the instruments on this first album (except for the saxophone and drums), Fontaine recruited various accomplished musicians for his live shows in the summer of 2013 and secured regular gigs at NYC’s prestigious Rockwood Music Hall (Stage 2), the premiere venue known for hosting high quality indie bands.

“Like A Fallen Rose” is the second of the five live video sessions filmed at Level 11 Studios in New York City. The live video series features Fontaine on lead vocals and his five-piece band performing songs from his debut album Almost Human (out now on iTunes). The sessions were filmed by New York filmmakers Lewis Smithingham and Piotr Surie von Czechowski. This song has a funky, soulful groove with poetic and passionate lyrics.
