Today’s song is “The Shape I’m In” by I Am the Avalanche. This song is the first single off the band’s upcoming album Wolverines and was featured on Esquire.com earlier this month. This band encapsulates an hard rock edge with an serious emotive force. This is shown in the lyrics inspired by a serious physical injury lead singer Vinnie Caruana sustained last year while on tour, and the physical and emotional pain he had to grapple with and overcome.
This spring the New York City-based group will hit the road for a headlining tour. Beginning with an in-store performance at Looney Tunes in West Babylon, Long Island on Monday, March 17, the East Coast, Midwest and West Coast tour will take in 18 evenings and visit major markets such as Chicago, IL on Saturday, March 22, Boston, MA on Wednesday, March 26, New York, NY on Friday, March 28, San Francisco, CA on Friday, April 11, Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, April 12, and culminate in a performance in San Diego, CA on Tuesday, April 15. Support on the tour will be provided by The Swellers, Diamond Youth, Turnover and Bellwether on select dates. Wolverines will be released through I Surrender Records on Tuesday, March 18.
