Song of the Day: “When I Hit The Bottom” by The GoAround

Today’s song is “When I Hit The Bottom” by The GoAround. This song is off the Pennsylvania duo’s album Restating the Question. The band is comprised of brothers Alexander, 21, and Anthony Saddic. The band officially came together in 2008 after several lineup changes. Born and raised in West Chester, PA, the duo got their start in music at an early age thanks to their music-loving parents. Their dad owned a project studio in their home basement where he wrote and recorded pop music, while their mother enrolled them in piano lessons. As the long-locked pair grew and matured, they honed their skills playing various instruments and rocking crowds at local venues such as The Note, The Trocadero, The Fire and even in backyards by personal request. Picking up a slew of screaming fans on their journey, The GoAround has been featured in local press outlets including high school and college publications.

While the album was mastered by Grammy-winning producer Nathan Dantzler (Audio Adrenaline) at the Hit
Lab studios in Los Angeles, the super talented duo produced and engineered Restating the Question themselves and recorded it all in their basement. Using different sounds from older inspirations such as Smokey Robinson, Led Zeppelin and Eric Clapton (or more recently, Matchbox Twenty, Foo Fighters, and Dido), The GoAround has created a pop/alt rock that has a hard hitting feel with a tinge of bluesiness that is truly unforgettable.
