This week Columbus, Ohio-band Red Wanting Blue launched their five-week fall tour featuring a with a taping of a session for Daytrotter which streamed live this past Monday.
Red Wanting Blue is also looking forward to a performance for the NPR program “Mountain Stage” which will tape on November 4th in Huntington, WV with fellow guests Dr. Dog, The Mountain Goats, and Spirit Family Reunion. The concert will air on more than 150 NPR affiliates nationwide in December.
For those who have not had the chance to catch a Red Wanting Blue show, the band recently made a soundboard recording of its recent sold-out show at City Winery in New York available for free download via Noisetrade.
Since the release of From The Vanishing Point, Red Wanting Blue has seen a steady increase in attention being paid to the sound that band leader Scott Terry has been bringing to America for over a decade. With an advance sell-out at the 1400-capacity House of Blues in Cleveland to a Top 10 debut on the Billboard “Heatseekers” chart, Red Wanting Blue’s story is a textbook case of local boys making good.
