Song of the Day: “School Friends” by Now, Now

Today’s song is “School Friends” by Now, Now. This song is off their sophomore album Threads which was released last March on Trans- Records. Threads is the culmination of a long journey that began nearly a year ago at SXSW 2011 when they developed a friendship with Trans- founder and Death Cab For Cutie guitarist/producer Chris Walla. Later that summer the Twin Cities trio hopped in their van and drove 1800 miles cross country to record with producer Howard Redekopp (Tegan and Sara, New Pornographers, An Horse) in Vancouver. The initial reaction from fans and critics alike has been overwhelmingly positive and has left the band excited for the year to come.

After a stint at SXSW last month, the band is currently on national tour with The Naked & Famous and Vacationer (see dates below).
