Today’s song is “Sister Mountain” by DeepSeaCreatures. This song is the most recent single from the indie/soul band. The LA duo is composed of two Israeli songwriters, and producers, Adam Peri and Eyal Glass. The duo met in Israel, during their military service and connected immediately, “Someone grabbed a guitar and instantly we had a song.” They went on performing locally for a year around their hometown, Haifa, Israel. The two parted ways, when Eyal moved to Los Angeles in pursuit of new undertakings, while Adam continued writing and producing for numerous admirable artists in Israel. In 2006, the duo collaborated again on Shiri Maimon’s (Platinum Israeli female artist) second album. That same year Adam started recording and touring with the band Hayehudim (The ‘Jews’), the biggest rock band in Israel for the last 15 years.
In 2009 Adam and Eyal reconnected to work on new tracks and a year later formed DeepSeaCreatures. Since then they have been recording and performing at venues in Los Angeles such as Hotel Café, The Mint and The Viper Room.
The band describes their music as “electronic rock emotion”. “Sister Mountain” has a hypnotic, hazy feel of slow melodies with a signature electronic, pop, rock sound.
