Today’s song is “Damn (Quickie Mart Remix)” by Shyvonne. The New Orleanian producer/deejay Quickie Mart has been creating some buzz with his ferocious dubstep remixes. The latest creation is from NYC songstress Shyvonne, a former Estelle backup singer now stepping out on her own. “Damn” started out as just a word Shyvonne accidentally uttered during a recording session. Popular Fools Gold Records deejay/producer Kingdom then made that word into the infectious beat that gave birth to “Damn!” Shyvonne and Quickie linked up at this year’s SXSW festival in Austin, TX and the “Damn” remix is the enthralling result.
