Song of the Day: “The City” by Mason Summers

Today’s song is “The City” by Mason Summers. The Maryland-based 3-piece punk band has a sound similar to NOFX, Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer, and MXPX. Mason Summers came together organically when the threesome met at church one day and realized their shared love of punk rock music.

It was clear to them they had to start a band together. Being huge supporters of humanitarian organizations and music, they meshed the two together and try to help out in any way they can.

Mason Summers is a Compassion Artist (officially work with Compassion International) and has been featured on the Compassion International music compilation which helps feed thousands of hungry children worldwide. The band also donates 50% of proceeds from their merchandise to Compassion Int. to help feed hungry children around the world.

Veterans of the rock scene, the band has played alongside some of their genre’s top national acts and are regulars at some of the premier US festivals. They have toured both nationally and internationally and have become quite the hit in Europe. They’ve played along bands such as The Last Hope, The Wedding, Street Dogs, Flatfoot 56, I Am Empire, and more.

The band will release their new album, Who Wants The Future? on June 7th (preview tracks from the album on their MySpace page).
