Interpol has not performed in Asbury Park for over a decade and last night I had the pleasure of attending their show at the legendary Paramount Theater in Asbury Park, NJ. It was a great show, the band vibed off the crowd’s energy performing several tracks off their latest self titled album such as “Baracade” and “Lights” as well as old favorites like “Heinrich Maneuver”, “Slow Hands”, “Stella Was A Diver And She Was Always Down” and more.
Opening for the band was School of Seven Bells, I found them to be quite boring live. The music and the lead singers voice did not engage me and I found myself wanting to take a nap. They had no stage presence and barely talked to the crowd, most of the audience had no idea who they were. I say skip seeing them unless you want to take a snooze.
Were you at this show? What did you think?
