Kings of Leon canceled their Thursday night show (11/18) at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ this week in order to meet a video production deadline.
I am thoroughly disappointed as I was really looking forward to seeing Kings of Leon since I have never seen them before. This is the second incident in the last year that makes one question their professionalism.
In addition Ticketmaster never even sent out a notification that this show was canceled. I was checking the show time this morning and stumbled across this message on the Bowery Presents site:
“We regret to inform you that Kings of Leon’s concert scheduled for Nov 18 at the IZOD Center will be rescheduled for mid to late2011, so that the band can accommodate a video production deadline. Refunds will be given at point of purchase.
Credit card purchases (online and telephone) will be credited back to the cards used. Details on are scheduled date will be announced soon. Please note, tickets for Nov 18 will not be valid for the rescheduled show. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
If you purchased tickets you will find that your card was credited on 11/10/10.
Possibly the LAMEST excuse for canceling a concert EVER. What a bunch of jerks. I had a chance to buy tickets to the 11/16 MSG show . . . and, quite frankly, found myself unwilling to pay any money to these exploitative so-called performers. “Video production deadline?” Really? So filming a 4-minute video genuinely is more important than performing in front of, oh, roughly twenty thousand actual live fans? Really?
THE LAMEST!
